So, I had my follow up at the dentist. It took five minutes and the girl treated me like an idiot. I was like " why is this hole here and why does it still hurt so bad". She said ( kind of like duh) because there's a hole there and the root is exposed. I said I know that I want to know why!
Anyway, I was referred to an endodontist for the root canal. When I got back home after the rest of my errands, I had some more questions, so I called the dentist back and spoke to the secretary lady. She said the doc never ended up doing anything to the last tooth. I was pissed at the sound of those words and vail of red encompassed my head and went down into my neck. I could feel my blood boiling ( this would be the second definition of what is know as being called a red neck when your primitive emotions get the best of you and all sense flies right out the window and all you can see is red and all you can do is rant like an idiot and hope you don't hurt someone.) Anyway, I asked her ( trying hard not to cuss her out) " what did he do" and "what have I already paid for it" she wasn't much help other than she could assure me I'd get a refund. She called back later after she found one of the hygienists that was assisting with my surgery. She told me that once the doc extracted the tooth in front of it, a LARGE cavity was exposed and the doc did want to do the "build up" ( where they remove the decay and insert antibiotics directly into the tooth) because he was afraid he would damage the nerve. I explained to her that I totally understood this and thank her for taking the time for me to find out what was going on BUT the fact still remained that I already paid for it, had my follow up, still had to go the endodontist, no one bothered to tell me any of this and a dentist let me walk around for almost two weeks with an exposed nerve. How was any of that okay. I told her I realized that none of ti was her fault but DAMN IT is that how they treat all of their patients. They were supposed to call they endodontist the day I had the teeth pulled, that didn't happen either. Now I have to wait Wednesday to have it done, not mention the time off from work and the money I'm loosing. The money. The insurance is filed after the fact I get reimbursed later, for what I can barely pay now.
So I had to call to endodontist, the first one didn't have an opening for over two weeks. She was nice enough o call and find out what I need to do, because she could tell how much pain I was in. So she found me another one. So finally I get the appointment but the woman says if it's exposed and hurts that much, I need to call and get the dentist to give me more antibiotics and pain meds. So I call the dentist and the secretary takes the info and the pharmacy info and the doc finally calls me back-- it's illegal to call in a prescription for percodan. OMG, WTF, who hates me. So I have to drive back to the dentist to get the scripts? BUT the dentist closes in like 30 minutes. So you know what my hokey dentist does? Anyone want to guess? He puts my prescriptions under the back mat. Yep you heard me right, a prescription for one of the most sought after pain killers- under the back door mat! I was so stunned I just hung up and hoped some cop didn't catch me sneaking up to the back door of a dentist office in the dark of night. Then by them time I got it the pharmacy was closed. DAMN IT!
I've been in tears from the money. I stay in tears from the pain.
